42,424,242 give or take some mutiple of 42

    • #3 by Xait on 2011.06.27 - 9:51 am

      42 is fun!

      717 x 42 = 30,114

      Also 42,424,242 – 30,114 = 42,394,128 which is also a multiple of 42 (1,009,384 x 42)

So your answer of “42,424,242 give or take some multiple of 42” was correct.

  3. #4 by mmeodiles on 2011.06.26 - 12:50 am

I would have to give an approximate guess of say…hmmmm 30,114 Clubs? 😉

  4. #5 by Orielle on 2011.06.25 - 7:29 pm

My answer is there were zero clubs in There since years ago There decided to stop calling them clubs and started calling them groups instead. 😛

    • #6 by Michael Wilson on 2011.06.25 - 7:49 pm

Very astute, but I used “Clubs” in the general sense. Points for logical thought, however.

I’d say throughout the years way to many.. You have to account for all the accounts and an average of each account having 2-3 clubs created by that user sometimes more… Enough to the point where I cant count in my head.

  26. #35 by Francis_7 on 2011.06.25 - 8:22 am

On ‘The Price is Right’ they had this thing where contestnats had to guess the closest to the retail price without going over. Seeing people guestimating at 400,000 and 600,000 I am going to guess about 500,000 : ) If there are more than 500,000 then There missed a good money making opportunity by not charging for club creation.

  27. #36 by Jakk171 on 2011.06.25 - 8:07 am

778 Clubs! Will you tell us who was closest?

    42

  29. #38 by Pilot_51 on 2011.06.25 - 7:36 am

Some of the comments are making me want to give my guess a range. Add a 0 and quadruple it, you get my liberal guess: 480,000. Any higher and you can color me surprised, with double-rainbow colors all the way.

  30. #39 by Wendy Stoll (Wendy50s) on 2011.06.25 - 6:46 am

  31. #40 by Guernseyman on 2011.06.25 - 6:46 am

I think there was a limit on the number of groups on There world, I remember getting a Theremail about inactive groups and they were being pruned back to make room for new groups. I seem to remember a limit of 2,000 being mentioned and we were allowed I think 100 groups on our profile?.

    🙂 🙂 Guernseyman 🙂 🙂

dificult becorse the numbers of members and actief people.
Say every mounth 1 club ,1 member = 12 per year.
    2003 till 2010 = 7 years.
The number of actief people ,say 5000
    420.000. clubs I think

Adding clubs that were barely there…… 50,000+?

  46. #56 by Lionsheart on 2011.06.25 - 3:03 am

    666137 clubs were made?

  48. #58 by evenstupider on 2011.06.25 - 2:40 am

I think there.com had close to 1M registered accounts in total (could be wrong). Most people who played the game casually probably registered a club – whereas more avid members probably created 5-10 or so. I know I had like 15. My guess is roughly 700,000-750,000? – if not more?

  49. #59 by Sand Storm on 2011.06.25 - 2:20 am

Around 1,278,396 roughly to be exact assuming a 100% error margin (is anyone looking for an accountant? LOL).

    Over 9000!
Well, in all seriousness I’ll take a slightly conservative guess and say about 12,000.

  68. #78 by Eatings, Sputters, Pneumonia, ect. on 2011.06.24 - 8:58 pm

I say around 7 million. Because of all the groups I had on all my avatars alone.

    • #79 by ARTIE on 2011.06.25 - 9:03 am

That might be close. I had nearly 100 clubs that I created for my extended Avatar family. I had over 50 preimum paid up avies and over 50 basic ones.

LOL, I can’t wait either. But this could be a fun guessing game if you are willing to tel us the answer. I know I had lots of active clubs so that all my avies could level up in club leadership. It is going to be sad that I will not have the $$$ to pay monthly memberships on all my favorate avatar personalities.

      • #85 by Dean Caballero ( Bumpin42 ) on 2011.06.25 - 1:35 pm

        Lmao

    • #86 by darkrounge on 2011.06.25 - 12:30 pm

      Why so serious?
I couldn’t care less about the clubs, because I was only part of one club (Which was partially small)..

I think the devs need to work on there, rather then get clubs up!
Work on clubs further on, once you’ve actually got there backup again.

I don’t see why clubs are you main priory at the moment, I’d rather jump in there2 and get my fireboots at the go.
We don’t necessarily NEED clubs at this present time at moment, that stuff can be implemented in the future. In the meantime, we should be allowed in there to re-unite with friends and add new people.

From that ^^ we know who’s actually reconsidered joining there and what groups will be open! Rather then jumping straight to conclusion.

      • #87 by darkrounge on 2011.06.25 - 12:32 pm

The first line of that sounded a bit heartless.
I didn’t mean I don’t care if they are implemented, I only meant that clubs shouldn’t be the devs main priory at the moment.
After all, we still need to reincarnate the old members who actually founded those clubs, so if you focused more on getting there backup then hopefully the word will spread to the old members that there is back up and they will rejoin.
Through that we can make new friends and hopefully meet old one’s.

        THEN, clubs should be implemented!

      • #88 by XNecroscopeX on 2011.06.26 - 2:51 am

        Agreed.

      • #89 by ARTIE on 2011.06.26 - 9:27 am

Folks, I bet the issues is important, or MW would not have bothered asking the question … but this blog post is jus for fun to give us a little fun guessing time.

I am guessing that the question was important to the software coding as to how we get our old avatars back. Once the code is in place it will be much harder to change how things in our old avatars will be restored. So it was a good warning to us to let us know what to expect when we first decided to rejoin the Virtual World of THERE.

        1. I, personally, will have to choose which avatars to bring back, by paying a monthly fee for any reactivated Avies. With that fee comes the hope now of having inventory and group ownership for any active clubs associated with that avatar. I had many groups and many avatars.

        2. Up in the air is how THERE2 will allow us to claim inventory on other avatars we might have purchased in the past or if they might be able to turn them into mules related to our main Avatar. YES … still many unanswered questions on how to make this all work. But some questions do not need answeres right away. Some will have to wait and see how MW can make all this work in the cloud without bankrupting the company or him and the inverters. They have the right to insist that the World finally pay for itself.

Obviously, it was important to settle the Group/Club question early before we get invited to join ThereIM. Some of the other unanswered questions can wait until later. Clearly some of our hopes may take massive amounts of time and $$$ … like will I ever be able to claim all the inventory that I had spread over 50 paid up avatars? Maybe? Perhaps? Lets wait and see what that might cost? Perhaps it will be better for some of us to pay the monthly $$$ to maintain 2 or 3 accounts to get back most of our inventory.

In the last few months before closing, I had 4 or 5 clubhouses tied to some of my avatars, so that I could do events where I could set out a multiple buggy jump & climb PAZs. Now, we know that pazs will not come back right away, until that gets figured out in the cloud. So Do I want to pay for 5 avatars and 5 clubhouses now … or do I wait and let others have a club house, now that they might be more important to the community again, until PAZs and Hoods can be reestablished?

My problem will be remembering which of my avatars had the most inventory and remembering which avatars owned/rented clubhouses that I might still want to use. Be glad if you were smart enough to move all your inventory back to one main avatar.

Clubs were a big part of There.com’s social interactions. Groups(Clubs) were made to group people together based on the same interests.
