Facebook Account

Well, some idiot has reported my Facebook account and gotten it disabled.

I’m sending in the documentation to get this resolved, but in the meantime don’t expect me to respond to posts, etc on Facebook.

I’m going to find my own special way to thank the person(s) who reported me.

There was a FB acct?? As soon as you get it back can you share what it is so I can ‘Like’ 🙂 thx

It is so sad that there are people with such meaningless little lives that they have nothing better to do than pull childish stunts like this. What’s even sadder is that they think this makes them feel “cool” when they know, deep down inside, it just makes them hate themselves even more.

I’m on Facebook but only because my cousin talked me into it so I could keep up with family news and pictures. If it weren’t for that I’d avoid FB like the plague.

  4. #4 by watchlight on 2011.12.08 - 4:32 am

Omg! I would get so mad if someone reported my facebook account for nothing! Go get ’em Michael! 😉

  5. #5 by Domano on 2011.12.07 - 6:50 pm

I don’t like Facebook – just use it because I need it for business

    • #6 by AgapeLove on 2011.12.07 - 11:51 pm

My sister loves FB, that is one of the reasons why i don’t! It is like she gets on and gives the latest update of what she is doing like” I’m going out to the store now, Here is my address , and by the way I never lock my door!” I won’t have to worry about her finding this post as she seems to have trouble finding her way around in virtual worlds and on the internet! But for some reason she can always find her way to “Farmville”!

  6. #7 by Melody_Chase on 2011.12.07 - 6:10 pm

I seem to be working fine except I crashed out in Zephyr again. Although temporary, I am disappointed that people chose to dump all over it again….turning it into a worse crap-hole then before. I really wish you would make the entire area “sacred”. Am I not supposed to visit these areas because people keep claiming it as “theirs”?? And whoever put that sarcastic “sacred” sign up…you know what you can do with it.

    • #8 by xSnoopy on 2011.12.08 - 7:36 am

      Your right Melody,
The unnamed person(s), who think Zephyr belongs to them and was the self appointed ruler(s), have pretty much left and gone off to join his 3 or 4 friends in “secret” places (islands) that they think belong to them.
Hopefully Zephyr will become partially “sacred” where no paz, sign or book dropping will be allowed, which will let the rest of us enjoy the place with out interference from the “gods”.
Please join all of us in Zephyr after There re-opens. All the crap should be gone from the center area.
      The Zephyr Beagle,
      xSnoopy

Not sure what a person could say to have your facebook account shut down. What something like hey this Michael Wilson guy has a lot of people on his account. Sounds fishy? lol. More people say things are fishy than you can shake a stick at.

Also about missing items…I while back I mentioned I was missing my Shark hoverboard. I did finally find it. I thought somehow the system didn’t migrate it or something. So this will probably be the case not 9 times out of 10 but probably 99 times out of 100 it is the person’s fault because they gave it to an alt or a friend or deleted it themselves or something. You have proven your inventory doesn’t lose items. What do these people think this is SL or something? lol

I recently met a person in There that said before you guys closed she returned all her things. You know how we get a measily 4 or so Tbucks for returning something after owning it a while? Why would any person do that? She just had to clear out her inventory and make 200 lousy tbucks? And have her avatar die with nothing? I kept my avatars with all my things and with about 20k to boot. Did I go around like an idiot saying hey do you want a thousand tbucks/ Have at it enjoy I won’t be needed them. No dice.

I just wish I was one of the few that got a hold of some of those free super bunnies. You gave them away maybe on the last week or day. Not sure. Someone put it on zero tbucks. If I only knew about it I would have a nice new pair of supers today with an inventory to sell for a pretty nice little fortune!

    • #10 by mimi06 on 2011.12.07 - 1:41 pm

@JJS NOT so much a fortune rofl.. check auctions some have them for sale as little as 5000 tbuxs .. 🙂

    • #11 by seany35 on 2011.12.08 - 6:54 am

I agree zephyr is one big mess makes it so laggy and some of the people there get away with doing and saying anything they like.

Everything was working fine for me, but in the past few days, I haven’t been able to log in. I get the “Multiple attempts to login failed, please try again later” message. Anyone know anything about it?

    • #17 by MrScrooge on 2011.12.07 - 7:35 am

I’m not sure what it is but I usually get that message when my internet connection acts up

  13. #18 by justagreatguy on 2011.12.06 - 6:08 pm

I am also sorry to hear that, I don’t do facebook because there is to much drama and every talking about everyone else in bad ways. Then I hear things like this and it makes me not want a facebook page ever. It’s just to bad that when people try to do good things and help others out they get shit on by others. I think your doing great bringing There.com back and it has alot to do with you helping out the people that want it, we all know your not doing it for the money your just trying to be nice in your own way. I hope you get the chance to kick some ass!!
    Well anyway “Thank you”.

If you don’t try to sneak in, yes.

      • #21 by HUGSaLOT on 2011.12.06 - 10:55 pm

If i choose to pay $10 for 1 month, can i skip the next month, and then pay again on the 3rd month? I just wanna know if i can skip some months, pay when i can, and still have my avatar available when i wanna pay for another month.

      • #22 by Andrew Almeida on 2011.12.07 - 3:44 pm

Huggs I assume this would be a yes because they say once created they cannot delete the avatar from the servers so if you lapsed payment I don’t see why they’d turn you down to reactivate. But they could possibly charge a fee for reactivating. I would lol. On the fb note MW, wtf did you do to have to send in documents? I’ve been reported and deactivated by ppl several times in another group I’m in. Once all I had to do was remove a pic and it let me back on, the next time just agree to some message it showed and it let me on. Both times showed evidence a report is acted upon by fb by means of an automated service at least 2-3 times for me before any actual human looked into anything. Which for me never happened, I did see another in the group got frozen from posting for 24 hours once.

      • #23 by Daniel Thereian on 2011.12.08 - 6:08 am

Sorry Michael, There is always someone who just has to try to ruin things. I feel sorry for them for being so lame.

  17. #28 by I hate Face Book on 2011.12.06 - 4:08 pm

I find the whole face book stuff, is crazy, strange and insane. Our society is lost! The face book seems to me like. Look at me! A person standing on a roof with their pants down. Look at me, look at me. Please look at me. Self absorbed. I mean come on. Posting your daily, ooo wait your hourly life for us to see what your are doing. Are where you got drunk last night. An even post the photos!

Please read my post and comments. O look at my friends, see who they are! Its me!! Look please look.

See me and my family, see where we go. Its like looking at your family home videos and photos of your vacation. I could care less to see!

See I am special. See me, it me……… Our society is lost! America is to busy living, as the world over takes us!!

    • #29 by Andrew Almeida on 2011.12.07 - 6:55 pm

Some of us rarely post on our walls and have our friends hidden from view btw. The world will never take us over.

  18. #30 by Kim on 2011.12.06 - 2:02 pm

I highly doubt that Facebook will reveal any information (Specifically IP address, no?) about whoever reported you. because even though FB loves releasing all sorts of ‘private’ info, it probably won’t release it to you. Js.

    • #31 by Andrew Almeida on 2011.12.07 - 6:57 pm

Genius, places illegally release info for money, the man has money…….1+1=2

      • #32 by Kim on 2011.12.10 - 11:50 am

Not really. That’s why there.com closed.

  19. #33 by 0ne1 on 2011.12.06 - 1:38 pm

Wow that is childish… Reporting Facebook pages? Who does that? I’m guessing it is someone whose life revolves around Facebook, and they feel that getting a Facebook page disabled is a huuuge deal. lol… Who really cares? It’s just a Facebook page. You can always get it re-enabled. It doesn’t harm anyone or their business in any way. It may waste a few minutes of time, but other than that…? Whoever did this needs to grow up. Actually, Michael Wilson, posting about it on your blog is like rewarding the person(s) for their efforts, you probably shouldn’t have said anything. A quote: “You hesitate to stab me with a word, and know not – silence is the sharper sword.” -Samuel Johnson

  20. #34 by Sassybeme There on 2011.12.06 - 1:32 pm

First I sit back and think, seriously? Is there some one that is that bent to bother taking the time out of their day to do some thing so stupidly childish? Sadly yes there are. Still stuns me. Not that facebook is any wondrous thing. Sorry for any one that would have to deal with such childish aggravation.

  21. #35 by Cocoa on 2011.12.06 - 1:16 pm

MW, what in fact is your facebook page? I’d like to follow updates on there xD

  22. #38 by Raymond Scheffer on 2011.12.06 - 12:24 pm

Oh dear.. That’s just plain rude. And Mark Suckerburger did everything to make his site big, except that he still doesn’t listen to it’s customers.. Facebook should be more privacy secure and not ban the good people out there.

  23. #39 by MrScrooge on 2011.12.06 - 12:10 pm

I don’t understand, report your Facebook for what reason? I only use Facebook because it’s a way to stay connected with my family and some of my friends. I’ve never been too thrilled with the amount of info and lack of privacy. But I so enjoy talking to my nieces and nephews so I’ll keep the cursed thing. BTW Michael, I know you have read Stephen King from time to time — have you read 11/22/63 yet? I thought it was a very enjoyable love story. You might enjoy it.

    Peace!

(Gallbladder surgery went well today, at home recovering. Still a bit in la-la land)

  25. #44 by mimi06 on 2011.12.06 - 11:01 am

Good Lord.. Does facebook NOT contact someone before they are accused? This saddens me only because there was a photo circulating of TWO young men dangling a puppy by it throat.. And that photo seemed to circulate for weeks.. But yet here we have the CEO of THERE.COM reported for what ever and poof its gone? There’s something wrong with this, not sure I will remain part of such a social site.. Good luck MW, but knowing you and your smarts I am sure you will be ok. As for the person who has done this.. God is watching…….

    • #45 by Kim on 2011.12.06 - 1:55 pm

LMFAOOOOOOOOOO “God is watching….” Oh no, maybe God will go onto facebook and ‘justice’ shall be served, as the one who reported Mike gets reported too. LOL, No offense, I just thought it was super funny XDD

  29. #50 by JasonMK on 2011.12.06 - 10:16 am

On the bright side, look at all of the mindless status updates you are being saved from…but in all seriousness, we’re sorry for the frustration and aggravation you have had to endure simply because we all want There back online. Thank you for your service and hope fb resolves things quickly for you (There isn’t any chance that Mackie works there part time and can help resolve this for you?)

  30. #51 by Gordon Hard on 2011.12.06 - 10:07 am

People will retaliate regardless of who they hurt…In my book you DO NOT MESS WITH, my wife (if I had a wife), my kids (I have kids…great ones) or my money (Don’t have) not necessarily in that order…Hurting others is what we do as humans, until it is done to us then we retaliate more and complain about “Why is this happening to me”. Wake up people and realize the Old Saying is true…”If you do the same things this year you done last year and expect different results…that is considered INSANITY”

    • #52 by Kim on 2011.12.06 - 1:58 pm

You know, some people would call that determination, strong will, etc. :S and dear lord, you sound like you’re talking about an actual REBELLION, you know, like the kind that kills people. Oh and don’t worry, nobody on here (i’m assuming) cares for you wife, kids, or money.

  31. #53 by Philip Thereian Key on 2011.12.06 - 9:49 am

Michal, there is already a new account on Facebook with your name asking to join all our There FB groups. Doesn’t appear to be the same account you had befoe. Did you create a new FB account, if so is this the bellow profile it, if not I will promptly ban that user from all the There groups.

      Yes, that’s me.

Facebook won’t let me create a There.com Page because my email address is “disabled”. OF course, that’s what they ASKED me to do.

      Grrr.

      • #56 by Philip Thereian Key on 2011.12.06 - 10:22 am

Thanks I will pass the word along in the groups

  33. #60 by Gail M Feldman on 2011.12.06 - 9:16 am

one of the things i hate, and i don’t mean dislike, i mean HATE about every social networking site i’ve met is that when someone reports someone else, the standard operating procedure is ban first and don’t bother to ask later. guilty until proven innocent. seven years ago i was active on yahoo answers and i received an email — the same email ELEVEN TIMES, in fact — from another member, which email stated that hitler was right and the sender fervently wished that my family had been killed in the holocaust. i forwarded one of these emails to yahoo and explained that it was one of eleven. in response… well, it wasn’t a response. they just banned me for life without explanation. either 1. yahoo likes nazis or 2. they can’t tell the difference between someone forwarding a letter in order to report it and someone addressing such a vile letter to yahoo itself, or 3. i did something else they didn’t like; i’ll never know because they declined to discuss the matter. and they are not alone in this behavior! facebook doesn’t explain very well but at least it makes its pathetic attempt.

  34. #61 by Suzy on 2011.12.06 - 9:06 am

Sorry to hear that happened, but don’t be vendictive. Children will behave like children and adults should behave like adults.

  35. #63 by Elaur on 2011.12.06 - 9:00 am

Wow, that just sucks. I did wonder why you didn’t have a profile pic up. Or was that just ’cause I was blocked or something 😉

    • #64 by Michael Wilson on 2011.12.06 - 9:08 am

To tell the truth, I consider Facebook to a a giant security sieve, and am hesitant to use it for anything (it’s worse than, say, PayPal, because it’s easy to get enough personal information to socially hack someone else’s account – you can get enough personal information to convince someone you’re someone you’re not), but it’s good for communicating with There folks who use the groups.

      • #65 by sue_g on 2011.12.06 - 8:10 pm

        Agree!

      • #66 by mmeodiles on 2011.12.07 - 10:45 pm

  36. #67 by SunnyMusic on 2011.12.06 - 8:53 am

Awww, sorry to hear that. Why are people so petty and mean… no, don’t answer that…sigh. 😦

  37. #68 by Laura on 2011.12.06 - 8:35 am

Haha, I guess hes paying you back for banning him 😛

  38. #70 by soledadnegativa on 2011.12.06 - 8:30 am

That’s just so clever. I can only guess that is someone that is banned paying you back. Will you let us know when you find him and tell him he is banned for life ROFL.

    • #71 by Papa Bare on 2011.12.06 - 8:58 am

I guess some people aren’t happy unless they have their heads buried deep in someone else’s a$$. It’s a shame that others can’t understand their overall attitude is what puts them in the positions they’re in. I wish you well, Michael and I’m sure you’ll work it out. It’s an unnecessary situation that FB obviously doesn’t research before acting upon.

      • #72 by Michael Wilson on 2011.12.06 - 9:06 am

Well if I was dealing with money or other valuables, I’d understand, lest something happen to my things.

      • #73 by Papa Bare on 2011.12.06 - 9:19 am

Do you feel like Rodney Dangerfield sometimes? You’re a much tougher man than I, Michael. God bless you.

  39. #74 by stxdixiechick on 2011.12.06 - 8:29 am

very odd.. I had two facebook accounts. One of them is my “Dixie Thomas” account, and the other one, was the one with my real name. The account with my real name got blocked for being a fake name on facebook, but the “Dixie Thomas” one is still alive… so very weird. Do they not think that Lorna Thomas is a real name, but Dixie is? *laughs* yea.. Lorna is way too far fetched 😛
